Greetings all.

Have had some feedback on this on thr JAL forum but wanted to refer it to the OneWorld forum as it is a One World booking so please excuse me for asking for further advice.

I have two OneWorld award ticket bookings and booking references, the first MNL-NRT with JAL and the second NRT-DFW-MEX with AA. The connection time at NRT is a little less than 4 hours. I was told when booking these awards (they are booked with BA) that if the connection at NRT was missed then the only option would be to get a ticket back to MNL as onward travel would not be honored.

Advice so far has been that the traveller(not me) can show both tickets to JAL and ask that an luggage is checked through to MEX plus that this should not be a problem. Also that the traveller can use flight connections at NRT and get the boarding pass or passes NRT-DFW-MEX passing via tha AA connections desk as opposed to arriving at NRT T2, having to clear Customs, go back to departures and check in again....

Finally I was shared this link which suggests that if the connection is missed then onward travel should be taken care of by in this case JAL...

Any advice here is very welcome....

Many thanks

4 hours in NRT should be plenty of time if the inbound is not extremely late.

It should be possible to check the luggage thru. When arriving at NRT just look for the AA transfer desk (no need to go thru immigration), show the onward reservation and the baggage stubs (important, otherwise your luggage will most likely left behind) and get the new boarding pass.

Normally when travelling on two different tickets you are not protected. But in this case JAL will help you - this is a benefit of having two tickets on OW airlines.

Yes, they will take care of your onward travel, although remaining in biz class isn't guaranteed. 4 hours sounds like a fair amount of connection time--I wouldn't worry.
