Le Club Accorhotels - Can we merge Le Club Platinum and Advantage Card into one?

I have a A-Club Platinum card which I gotten recently. As my Accor Advantage Card was expiring, I told the Telesales Officer to merge the 2 card into one so that I can use one card for reservation and check-in. She said that it can be done.

However, I just received the email to inform me that the Accor Advantage Silver status Card is being sent to me. Any way to get it merged? I have emailed to both Le Club and Accor Advantage Plus Service Centre, but no replies from them.

You can merge but most of the time the Platinum Le Club will be downgraded to Silver unless you can show to them that your Platinum status is "legal" (60 nights stayed...).

Thanks. If I have known this earlier, will not want to renew the Advantage Plus Card. Maybe I will call in to cancel the renewal in this case.
