I can see it's popular to bash the LAX station, and I've sure had some long waits for the bus, but when it really mattered, they came through for me.
Last week, I was rear-ended while driving a rental from LAX on the way to a meeting. The car was undriveable, and I was late. Once I got through the call center guy who took the report, I was connected with the LAX station. Although I was 45-50 minutes away from the airport, they sent a driver with a replacement car right away. They even asked what sort of vehicle I would like and whether I had a comfortable place to wait.
When I really needed it, they went beyond my expectations, and that sure makes up for a lot of waiting for the bus and haggling for upgrades.
