United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - International calling elite line for 1k?

20 minutes of flyertalk and google searching on what seems to be a dial-up wireless connection has not revealed the answer....

I am a 1k needing to change a flight (using star alliance partners) to get home next week. I am currently in Uganda, and cannot for the life of me find a non 1-800 number to call the united elite desk to get it changed.

Can anyone pm me a working number I can call? The African numbers I find online all do not return a live agent.

Doesn't work. I have tried. I know with Delta I used to have a landline number I could call from bizarre locations... I am hoping united has one too?

Try 713-952-1630. This is an old CO # for One Pass, but it has worked for me in the past they transfferred me to the 1K desk

I just called the 1k desk. They said call 713-324-7277 -- it's an internal # and they should be able to transfer you.

Glad things worked out OK and the wait on the phone wasn't too long. Since there is no more "official 1K line", agents answering the "Premier desk" can vary widely in their helpfulness.
