Hong Kong and Macau - HKG - One hour between flights too risky?

Hi -

I am going from SIN-HKG-ORD on a flight that leaves SIN at 7:10am, gets into HKG at 10:55am with my ORD departure leaving at 11:50am. All on Cathay.

I looks like I arrive and depart HKG in Terminal 1 but I'm a bit nervous about just having one hour between connecting flights. Is that going to be enough time to get through HKG to my next flight or is that too risky?

HKIA is a very efficient airport and 55 mins between flights is doable, BUT I wouldn't be comfortable with such a connection. You will have to clear security and get to the gate for your flight to ORD.

Personally, I never do a int'l 1 hr connection. Airport could be 100% efficient but it's the incoming flight that could be delayed.

Having it all on Cathay (and assuming the same ticket) might provide some protection if there are delays, but it's all a hassle to me.

Will not be a problem if you arrive on-time. CX will have agents waiting at your plane's arrival gate and escort you through security and transfer if you have a chance of missing your flight.

Suggest just requesting a seat towards the front of the plane so you can deplane faster.

The best is to mention it when you are checking in at SIN, so they can tell the CX staffs at HKG so that they know you are coming.
