Will fly NZ from Brisbane to AKL and transit at AKL for another NZ flight from AKL to PPT. I will have only exactly 1 hour and 5 minutes transit time at AKL and don't want to miss my flight from AKL to PPT since there are only 2 weekly flights to PPT. If I miss the connecting flight to PPT, I don't know what and where NZ will put me to and I don't wanna get stuck at AKL for couple of days. Can anyone tell me if I have enough time for the transit? Should I take the risk? NZ website is selling this itinerary, so if I cannot make it to the connecting flight to PPT, will NZ put me to next available Air Tahiti Nui (after 2 days) instead of the next NZ flight (after 3 days)?
Thanks for any words of wisdom in advance. Moderator pls merge my post to and existing thread if necessary. Sorry about that.

hi
i believe the minimum connect time NZ to NZ international at AKL is 55 mins
so i'm sure you will be fine and NZ will take care of you should the need arise
if you are worried you could always arrive a day earlier to AKL maybe ?
or there is travel insurance !
have a great trip

Transfers at AKL aren't as common as at some other airports, so you'll find that the transit facility will only have a few other people connecting, if any at all. This means that going through transit security, etc, will take little time and you should have plenty of time to spare. As usual, YMMV.
Just make sure not to take any liquids with you as usual! :D

It is absolutely plenty time.
In July, I did the reverse itinerary to you.
I was due to arrive from PPT in Auckland at 0630, and fly on to Brisbane at 0925. The flight was delayed by many hours, so Air NZ rebooked me onto the 1230 flight from AKL to BNE, with 60 minutes connection time at AKL between my flight arriving from PPT, which was rescheduled to arrive at 1130, and my next one due to depart for BNE.
In practice, the flight from PPT touched down at AKL at 1209, 21 minutes before my BNE flight was due to depart. I had asked on board whether the plane was being held for us, and they didn't know, and advised me to go straight through International Transfers and to the new gate.
We were in Business Class, and disembarked at 1217. We went through International Transfers at 1221, just in time for a tannoy announcement informing the entire terminal that all other passengers had boarded and that unless we went immediately to the gate our bags would be offloaded. (Yeah right, they wouldn't even have offloaded them from our incoming flight by then).
At 1225 we boarded the plane, and the crew were surprised to see us, and told us that we had been rebooked onto an Emirates flight, but were welcome to stay onboard.
At 1232, the plane moved off the gate!
So the moral of the story is that if you're on one ticket Air NZ will look after you. And that off-peak, you're safe if you disembark your first plane within 20 minutes of the departure time for your next one.
In practice, 40 minutes would ALWAYS be enough for international-international transfers at AKL.

Thanks for everyone's advice. I have decided to arrive 1 day earlier at AKL for the PPT flight on the next day since I do not want to take any risk although 1 hour 5 minutes transit time is enough. I do not want to have any stress during my holiday, specially the next available flight will be 2 or 3 days after I miss the original one.
