Credit Card Programs - How to maximize our flexperks on a trip to Europe?

My wife and I have 200000 flexperks miles and plan on taking a month long trip to Europe next summer. How can we use those points to the fullest? Right now it will cover two adult coach tickets but it would be nice to move up in class or be able to find some deals on lodging as well. Our plan is to start in Venice and end in London.

I'm not well familiar with this card (just got approved for it) but from doing some reading I understand you can get a $4,000 in flights for the amount of points you have. So I'm not sure why it would only cover 2 tickets?

I still have a question about flexperks. You can convert 30k miles into a $600 voucher for airline travel. If I want to buy a $1000 airline ticket to Europe can I use the voucher and $400 in cash?

This is one of the big limits of FlexPerks. They are only good for a maximum of 2 cents per point (and possibly less).

200,000 points will get you two tickets at 100,000 points each for a value of UP TO $2,000 each. So if you want to maximize your value, try to find tickets that cost as close to $2,000 each without going over.

There are two problems with this.
(1) That's expensive for a coach ticket. So maybe you would be better off redeeming fewer points for two cheaper tickets (say, two tickets for 50,000 points each and a value of UP TO $1,000 each) and saving the left over points for something else.
(2) If you do use all your points, $2,000 a ticket isn't normally enough for business class. However, deals do exist in the off season, particularly around Thanksgiving. You could look to see if anything is available around then.

Another option for upgrading yourself is buying a coach ticket and applying a systemwide upgrade (since US Bank just goes out to buy you an ordinary revenue ticket). If you don't have any, maybe you have some friends who do.

If you want to use your points toward lodging, you have to redeem them for a gift card. My understanding is that this gets you only 1 cent value per point. It's no better than a cash back card.

Not to my knowledge. I would call up US Bank to confirm.

With Citi ThankYou points or Chase Ultimate Rewards points you can because they don't care if you redeem 1 point or 1 million points. US Bank wants you to redeem them in chunks.

Is there a thread that discusses the best credit card offers and card reward programs for airline elite members looking for points to book cheap upgradeable revenue tickets?

Not to my knowledge, but I find FT a bit too large to navigate. You could try searching for a thread that meets your needs.

I have a list of different credit cards with flexible points, which can often be converted to a cash value toward a flight. (disclaimer: I don't get any affiliate income from most of these) My top picks would be a card that offers Ultimate Rewards or ThankYou points.
