I know this is hard to time, but is it too early to buy a one way ticket from KWL to PEK for late March?

Prices are in the mid $300....expected less, so I was just wondering about using miles?

About 4 weeks in advance, perhaps? You should be able to score tickets for <$100, including the tax/YQ.

I hope you are checking the Chinese travel agencies like C-trip (http://english.ctrip.com/) who have the best price.

Yeah, I'd agree with moondog about time frame--start looking about 4 weeks out. I'm not as optimistic about getting a fare under USD 100, but I am optimistic you'll get something under USD 150 all-in (assuming current exchange rates. KEL-PEK is usually not too deeply discounted, but late March is still sort of off-season and also not a heavy period for Chinese to travel. Make sure you check the domestic agencies, and if you have not previously read our forum's Master Transportation Thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/china/1217964-china-master-transportation-thread.html) on domestic intercity air services, you should do so.

I was just guessing about the <$100 bit because ctrip was being finicky during the time of my last post, but I just searched for flights 2 weeks out, and y720 (+y150) appears to represent the floor, and you can book at that rate on pretty much all flights. March fares should be slightly less.
