When is VS getting rid of its 340-300s?

I m flying them on LHR-DEL in Dec and while I don't mind looped video, the odyssey system is remarkably unwatchable due to poor video quality. I like my IFE. Bought the ticket today, so I still have 16 hrs to cancel and switch to BA Y+. I last fletiw VS Y+ in 2010. My only complain then was IFE, though the catering was pretty mediocre. What's the verdict on it nowadays? Better? Worse? Same?

VS PE (not Y+ which generally indicates economy with 4" extra legroom like United's) has had a catering revamp this year, but more importantly the DEL route is switching to a A330 through December so that means the new JAM IFE which is fantastic.

Ah, excellent. I flew TK Comfort earlier this year and got my head turned, but VS PE has long been a favorite of mine.IFE on the return day leg is a must so I m hoping to avoid the343 which showed up a lot in DEL. Catering - well to be honest, its never been a deal breaker, but I just read about BA offering CW meals, so I got curious about which way the meals are going.

Was a little tempted by BAs 744 - its been a while. But if its a new 333, sold. Incidentally I have a 346 listed on my itin (which I all take happily - new type for me).

I don't fly PE that often but my last PE flight (last month) had pretty good catering. I don't know for sure what the difference is between PE and Y but I would be surprised if what I had was also being served in Y.

This was a night flight and the meal consisted of a starter, main course and dessert followed by a second drinks run, tea/coffee, baileys and (I think) hot chocolate. The service reminded me of BA CW since you get a tray with a table-cloth on it. There may also have been warm bread but I can't really remember now.

You get three choices of main course compared to BA's two in WT+.

It is indeed different from the food served in Y -- and much better. And yes there are normally warm bread rolls.

However, I imagine that a CW main course (which is what you get in WT+) is rather better still.
