all UA flights are KoshAir! :td: Thats what Ive gotten ex SIN,NRT,KIX,HKG SYD was some local food. Now this is for all PMUA flights, if you are flying a PMCO flight I doubt youd get stuck with KoshAir
I still cant figure it out but EWR-ZRH which is considered a UA flight (used to be CO) gets Weiss while all CO former flights out of EWR get Regal. But at least its not KoshAir
so NRT-EWR shouldnt be KA, but NRT-LAX,SFO,ORD,IAD will be KoshAir

or book what used to be a PMCO flight eg NRT-EWR or IAH instead of NRT-LAX,SFO,IAD,ORD but make sure the plane being used is a PMCO plane. Otherwise like EWR-ZRH or I believe EWR-BRU even thou its an old PMCO flight the plane is PMUA so it will be UAs catering out of EWR its Weiss and AOK, elsewhere it will be KoahAir and Terrible (imo)
but with BYO you wont have to worry

AC ex-YYZ is Hamasbia - very good, at least in business (I never took them in coach)
AC ex-NRT is some outfit from Australia (I have a post in the master kosher meal thread about it), rates fare to poor for a coach meal and they serve coach meals to business
UA ex-NRT is koshair. All Dairy, non-cholov yisroel. Presentation looks nice, but I don't eat non-CY so I have no clue about the taste (CRAZ hates it though)

In Pre merger days I took CO NRT-EWR. That was Hermolis, but all fish and not IMO Hermolis' best offering

are you saying that UA NRT-EWR and NRT-IAH both PMCO routes and I believe still using PMCO planes get KoshAir now? That would be a first for PMCO routes, I havent heard of any PMCO route/plane using KA till now
The way I understand things its CO gets Regal and from Overseas the local company or Hermolis in most cases where its available. PMUA routes gets Weiss out of EWR and KA elsewhere, Overseas in most cases KA as well at least Asia wise and Europe as well depending where.

I haven't taken NRT-EWR on CO since the merger, so I have no clue what they are serving now.
I took NRT-IAH and that was what my comment regarding UA was based on.

so you flew NRT-IAH pre 3/3 and got Hermolis but havent flown it since 3/3 so you dont know if its still Hermolis or if they went with KA, correct? Id assume its still Hermolis, and as bad as it may have been Im sure it was alot better then any KA junk Ive been served over the yrs

craz, EWR-ZRH and EWR-BRU were both originally legacy PMCO routes, but were both taken over by PMUA. Both get Weiss, as you mention. Weiss is sometimes bit tastier than Regal, but significantly smaller portion. My EWR-BRU F meal was the size of a typical Y meal on PMCO, yet is supposedly multi-course.

Seems those routes where COdbaUA thinks it can sell F will be a 3 cabin aircraft and since PMCO only had 2 cabins they need to use a PMUA plane.
That I understand, what I dont understand is why they use Weiss and not Regal, seems COdbaUA is going out of its way to keep 2 structures in place. I understand for now that PMUA planes will have PMUA crew but not why 2 different Caterers for KSML actually its 3 as besides EWR its KoshAir ecverywhere else if on PMUA

It really doesn't make sense, as I understand that they've standardized the regular catering. Right now they have 3 separate Kosher caterers.
Hopefully, going forward, they go with Regal (or local/Hermolis). Ex-EWR, FAs, both PMCO and PMUA, seem to think they'll go with Regal, as EWR is the largest base of KSML orders, and they have a strong relationship with Regal.

when Weiss 1st started up yrs ago they were great much better then Regal. I imagine as the cost of goods goes up and the Carriers wanting to spend less, left littel choice eitehr to cut back on what was given or go out of Biz. They cant put $12 worth of food ontoa tray they get say $9 for
I perfer Regal but not by much and dont care which they go with as long as its not KoshAir (the old Wilton). And as bad as some off shore meals are they are alot better then KA

They also use Shalom ex-ZRH, though that could've been because the sUA flights on legacy PMCO routes don't use KA

Im trying to remember what I got out of Europe when I was on UA, I dont remember it being KA, but I usually didnt fly UA to/from Europe I usually use my Miles for European tkts and flew whomever out of JFK
Out of Europe I believe its gonna be the local caterer which isnt teh case with Asia but is with SYD/MEL

Last year on UA out of MUC (and FRA) I got Sohars.
Any idea what the cost difference to the airline is between KA and say Bornstein (used by LH)
