You can't link an image from your computer. It must have a valid URL address.

I took the URL address from Picasa. I know it is a valid address since I attempted and was successful opening it up in IE

I looked up the URL you pasted:
http://\\elk-fs\profiles\lforlenza\My Documents\IMG02008-20120603-1643.jpg

That's an invalid format for a URL. It looks like part URL and part shortcut to a file on your computer (which IE can open).

Your URL source is still messed up. Did you try the instructions in the link provided above? I wrote them a while ago but they should still be working. Otherwise share the URL in your browser address bar and I can figure it out again for you.

I swear I am not a complete computer illiterate but this is driving me crazy. Please explain what you mean by sharing the URL in my browser's address bar.
Thanks for your help and patience. LAF

Well I'm not a techie, but let's say you're on Picassa & you click on the image. The url for that image will appear at the top in the address bar. You just copy that & PM it to sbm12 to get him to help you, if the instructions in the link (which is specific to Picassa images) doesn't make sense to you.

Cheers.

In IE, right click on the image and select "Properties" from the drop down menu. The address, or URL, for the image will appear in the properties display.

Here is an example:

That's actually what I do after sbm12's instructions a couple of years ago. Thanks for providing better example.

Cheers.

P.S. Having carefully looked the URL that you posted, it would appear to me as if you are trying to link an image from a password protected site. That's why you were redirected to a Login screen.

Thanks everyone for your patience and assistance. I did find and copy the URL and this is the address which is still not workinghttp://https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OaC-fmsDC60/UDP0Q-vxgqI/AAAAAAAAAA0/Zg81qajE2Ck/s512/IMG02008-20120603-1643.jpg

That's not a valid URL:

http://https//lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OaC-fmsDC60/UDP0Q-vxgqI/AAAAAAAAAA0/Zg81qajE2Ck/s512/IMG02008-20120603-1643.jpg

In addition, you are trying to link an image stored on your Google account which requires the viewer to login to your account in order to see the image. You must use a service that does not require signing in to view stored images. Try Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/).
