I guess they can always go back to 73H if the demand is affected by the conflicts Japan and China are having right now. There is still time before the capacity increase

Because 1 weekly changes doesn't really mean anything.

Do the 767-300ER and 737-800 have the same business class seat types?

There are a couple of 767-300ERs installed with JAL SKYRECLINER instead of SKYLUXE. But most of them have the same C seats. The IFE is different though, 73H has MAGIC-IV instead of MAGIC-III/V. Both have AVOD but MAGIC-IV has less channels

Things definitely have got worse in the past couple of days...they might have to revert to 73H if things don't start to get better :(

OK we have some data that comes out finally

http://inews.mingpao.com/htm/INews/20120918/ca21637c.htm

It says NH saw 15,000 cancellations between Sep and Nov. JAL have received cancellations from travel agencies in China too but didn't disclose the number of cancellations. But analyst expects similar number of cancelations as NH saw...Not looking good.

Turns out JAL haven't seen as much cancellations as NH did.

There still seems to be a lot of people going to Japan, though. I'm trying to go during the October holiday and availability is still kind of hard to come by, to say nothing of pricing (both JL and NH seem to be acting as if nothing's happened).

They have reduced the frequency so the supply is lowered. Turns out JAL had received 12,000 cancellations on its China-Japan routes between Sep and Nov. They will adjust winter schedule if necessary...so I guess they probably won't be increasing the capacity as planned if situation doesn't improve

despite the temp flight cuts have been extended till Nov 17, looks like JAL is still upgrading the PEK flight from 73H to 763 according to their online booking
