Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Booking a Kris Flyer reward on a partner airline

Hi All,

Hoping someone can give me some advice. I have about 14,000 miles orphaned in SA krisflyer program. However, I have about 35,000 Membership points (which transfers 1:1 to SA) that I can transfer over.

My dilemma is this: I recently moved to HNL which is a terrible location for redeeming SA rewards so I was wondering how does booking with partner airlines work in terms of mileage?

The partner base is so broad I am wondering if I can plan an itinerary on any of the partner airlines then call SA to book the flight. Also how is mileage calculation determined? Just trying to get the partner with the least mileage and least in taxes, fuel surcharges etc.

On partner airlines, it seems lowest award you can get (in economy) ex-HNL is 17.5 K (oneway) or 35K (return). That will get you to anywhere in US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean or Central America. For 25k (oneway) or 50K(return) can get to South America. US or UA would probably have lowest taxes.
