bmi diamond club - A330 Cabin Upgrade

As crazy as it is to refurbish the aircraft when they will very shortly be leaving the fleet, both G-WWBD & G-WWBM have undergone MX, had a deep clean & now have brown cow cabins! Pics:

The pics make it look like there's several different shades of brown, in fact they're all the same. ^

I realise I may be in a very small minority here but they look absolutely ghastly. :eek:

Many of us have fond memories of sitting in these very cabins....

I have to say though, that the colour co-ordination between the brown cow seats and the black 'ex-girlfriends underwear' pattern on the bulkhead is, er, rather eeuuuwwwww.....

Can't quite tell from the pics, but are both now back in 2-class config, with BM having the "old" longhaul business class (more recently premium economy) seats upfront, with BD having the "new" lomghaul business seats ?

Why? Probably in the contract that LH/BMI signed many moons ago when they wanted to refurbish the birds and it would be too costly to back out...

I flew in C on WWBM on the LHR-Jeddah-LHR route regularly for the last 3 years and it needed the refurbishment.

However, I agree it seems a little late to be of use before the service ends but it was still a pleasant & fresh experience on what was my last ever BMI flight last Tuesday back to Jeddah.

The regular crew, the on board chefs and WWBM regardless of the refurbishment will be missed and I told them so as I stepped off for the last time.

Beats the drab BA CE & CW cabins ;)

Love the J Cabin . Shame it wont be for long. BMI really stood out from the rest with that unique design and I loved it .
