Was travelling EWR - OSL in Y class but no comfort kits were handed out. Asked for one, and got the reply they have stopped giving this out since the summer. Complained about this, and flight attendant got me one afterall.
I wonder if this is a new policy on SAS intercont ? If so, I suppose this is for cost saving reasons. However, this shows that Economy Extra product is deterioating and at some point no reason to pay extra premium compared to other airlines. SAS already has a huge disadvantage with their "fantastic" entertainment system and why add more it ?

experienced exactly the same thing on iad -cph yesterday.... and when i asked the fa also told me that they stopped the snacks (almonds, etc). not impressed.... for a 14k dkk ticket, i really was dissapointed, all sorts of service going down while the price stays high....

And I asked the same thing two weeks ago. The answer I got was that it was stopped during the summer when the crew was reduced by one and "not so many pax i EE". The cabin looked rather full to me, but maybe a lot of us had upgraded via OT or with points, and she meant "not so many full-paying pax"... ;)
On the same note, there are quite a few things that have changed in Eco Extra compared to a couple of years back: No amenity kit as already mentioned. No champagne, and bubbly wine handed out instead without comments on the switch. No hot towels. No ice cream. Paper napkins with the meal. No pre-flight water/juice. No drink snacks (almonds or similar). No candy basket.

I flew CPH-PVG in Y on 7th of august, and back again on the 17th of august. I got a comfort kit both ways. Maybe you guys just have been unlucky, or that SAS have some problems with delivery?
I did not get Peanuts, but I got a lot of pretzels.

I flew Y about 10 days ago on IAD-CPH and no comfort kit.
Oh man is this for real... Cīmon, Eco Extra is the name, but there is not a whole lot of extra about it these days. Really feeling the cost cutting, it makes it harder to defend the fares charged in Eco Extra cabin if you are paying this yourself. Eco earnings are so good now as well, even less difference between a "dirt" cheap Eco ticket and Eco extra.

*sigh* I hope SAS fires their excel-loving-bean-counters soon. I'm sure they save a few bucks on all these stupid cost cuts, but they must lose out more in terms of bad PR - but that doesn't really show in the excel sheets.
