United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Help with routing from Houston to Europe

Trying to book 3 business class tickets from Iah to Europe using stopovers and open jaws. Goal is to see Paris, Istanbul, Cairo, and Moscow. I know it's kind of funny combination but it's really how I thought I could maximize award since its hard for me to accumulate enough miles for three people.

Routing that I propose:

Iah -- CDG (stopover) -- IST
Buy tickets from IST--CAI and CAI--DME
Then open jaw DME--IAH

I wanted to use different airlines so we could experience business class to the fullest. I know it's not first class but it's better than nothing. I wanted to see if this was good or you could propose a different routing. I know many here are familiar with which types of planes to take and what carriers are the best.

I wanted to see also if anyone knew of a program to offset the cost of CAI to DME -- I looked into avios but no direct flights there as tix cost 450 each.

Thanks in advance ;)

Hey,
Can you please tell us what dates you are looking at?
Award or $$$ ?

With TK launching IST-IAH service early next year maybe IAH-IST//MOW-CDG//CDG-IAH as the award and IST-CAI-MOW as the additional flights makes more sense. Assuming you can get inventory, of course.

Or IAH-MOW, MOW-IST, CDG-IAH and buy IST-CAI-CDG. There will be some extra connections in there but avoiding buying the flights to/from MOW is probably going to be cheaper in the long term.

Thank for the quick replies

I was going to redeem 300k united miles for 3biz tickets for either feb or June of 2013.

I wanted to try to use biz class tickets at the airports that are the most difficult to navigate so we could use priority lanes -- we have a 4 year old.

Which airlines can I fly out of Iah to the places listed that are good biz class products? I know Turkish but did not know they are starting a flight directly from Iah -- good to know.

I know I need to buy 2 sets of tickets with one for sure being IST-CAI sine it's cheap but I dont know which other combination so the tix wouldn't be tgt expensive.

Thanks for letting me use your knowledge

Don't forget Singapore Air has a flight from DME to IAh. If you could get biz award seats on that in any direction I'd say go for it.

Thanks for the reply

I was hoping on the way home I could Get SQ on the way from DME to Iah but I know that would be a stretch.

When are you traveling? Moscow to Cairo via Dubai on Emirates was the least expensive one way ticket on a random date that I picked. The flights were on the A380 to DXB and 777 onward to CAI.
