Club Carlson - New gold member questions

I have a question. I am a Gold member and I do not have my gold card yet. I do not think I will have the card for my stay on Tuesday. A family member booked a stay through their account (non status) for to check in. Am I able to get the room upgraded even if it is booked through their account and I have no gold card handy? TIA

Also in the benefits section it states that I will receive the best room in the category booked. I book the cheapest rate, does that mean no business suite, etc??? Thanks

You can call the hotel to get your name added to the room. Then,get them to add your card # in the notes section. Most likely, you'll have to prompt them at check-in about your gold status. Remember--golds don't always get upgrades, so don't get your hopes up.
