I am about to embark on booking my most complex trip ever. The trip will involve 4 adults, 1x 3 year old and 1 lap baby.

Also, my mother in law has a preexiting ticket that we have to work into the mix.

Soo...

March 24th.
Mother in Law flying LAX -> BKK on Thai airways. Already paid for. (Her return trip)

My wife, 2 year old, and baby will accompany her to BKK from LAX.

April 26th
Me and 2 friends will fly LAX > FRA stop pver for a week and then continue on to BKK.

May 11th.
Me, my 2 friends, my wife, my 3 year old, and my baby will all fly back together from BKK - > LAX (any route really)

The challenge is to try to find enough award seats for everyone. We want to do business class but it looks almost impossible.

Thai airways doesnt look like they have any award availablity open on any of time times my wife and kids are travelling.

If I had ooogads of points I think I could do something... right now I am working with 195k US Air miles and 160k United miles (for me, wife, 3 year old and baby). My 2 friends have more than the 120k US Air miles each to use for their tickets.

I'll keep you posted up as I hopefully find ways to work this all out.

One of the first rules when booking awards..... be flexible with your dates.

Your schedule seems fixed, even for some specific flights. Good luck, it's going to be a challenge. Especially for a group.

Will your 2 years old child be the 3 years old child you mention later? Or should I believe what you wrote first, and your wife is 2 years old? And what about the ageless baby? Really complicated. ;)

The 3 year old will be 3 years old the whole trip. The infant will remain an infant the whole trip too. (He will not turn 2 till later in the year.) My wife will remain her same age as well.

please do keep us posted as I am very interested. I have heard that it is possible via US and UA for Roundtrip awards to Asia via stopover in Europe, but havnt exactly figured out how to do that. I would love to hear if you are successful or not
