United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Question on Award tickets on partner codeshares operated by non-partners

I noticed that one can sometimes ticket awards on codeshares of partner airlines where the operating airlines are actually not partners.

For example -
QR codeshare operated by ME (Skyteam)
SA codeshare operated by EK (Independent)

Would I have trouble flying these assuming they ticketed (016) without issue & I could assign seats?

Flown UA mileage tickets on SK-coded flights operated by non-UA partners, for example. Once ticketed, all good to go in terms of my own flights.
