Southwest Rapid Rewards - Quick CP question -- please guide me

Pls excuse if I use the wrong terminolgy as I am not a big WN flyer.

Can a CP holder change the beneficiary for a one time use? I have a family member who has a CP and I would like to send my son with him to his house for his daughters' bday party and I was hoping he would take my son as the "companion" one way and I would pay for the way back.

Family member says this is not possible -- I would like the expert opinion on this board.

If it is possible, how would he go about it?

Yes, you can change the Companion 3 times during the validity of the CP. Read the terms on the WN website; it is explained.

Officially as I recall you have to do it by mail/FAX, but try by phone first.
