I was looking at flying into ABZ Dec/Jan but there are no Lufthansa flights showing up. Do they discontinue the ABZ route in the Winter or are they stopping service to ABZ completely later this year? I can't seem to find an answer.

It looks like a temporary suspension of the service during the Christmas week. The last flights before Christmas on Sunday 23 December, the first flight after Christmas on Tuesday 1 January.

The route is operated by Lufthansa Cityline.

Thanks.

Looks like I won't be flying Lufthansa that trip.

NewbieRunner is right, they just added a 3rd daily flight to ABZ. LH970,972,974 are the outbounds. They do that over the holidays to other cities in Europe too, they sometimes cut 1 or 2 of the daily flights over the holidays.

With the introduction of the 2012/2013 winter timetable, Lufthansa CityLine, the Group's regional airline subsidiary, will continue to fly three times daily between Frankfurt and Aberdeen. 'The oil capital of Europe' will therefore still be linked to the Frankfurt hub and the Lufthansa global route network.

Lufthansa CityLine will operate its modern, 100-seater Embraer 190 aircraft on this route, offering both Business and Economy Class.
