I will go to Paris with my wife in early octobre as a gift for her 29th+++++ birthday.
Can anyone please recommend a nice accor hotel that's located either in the centre (near tourist "stuff") or near metro/bus station where we can get easy and fast to the center of Paris.
Thx in advance

All depends on your budget, I assume you are not looking for an ibis hotel as gift?

I always like the Sofitel product, so what about Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe? In your price range at about USD$332/night. It may look dated in some areas though. Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg may be a better option if your budget is flexible.

Not before the renovations are finished. The place was a dump last time I stayed there and judging from the website it still is. (and you don't hear me saying that about a Sofitel very often).
The Scribe by Sofitel is very nice but may be way over price limit. The MGallery Baltimore comes highly recommended.
It is a bit strange but the best Sofitels are not in France.

Sofitel has been revamped only recently, and most old properties have left the brand.
Sofitels hotels in France are the older ones. Some have been renovated, but still keep the stigma of the past (Sofitel Lyon, Sofitel Strasbourg): ugly architecture, tiny rooms, renovated design in a pseudo-creative Ligne Roset design.
To some extent, Sofitel Marseille is not so different, but offers a beautiful view.
I like very much Sofitel Porticcio, not for the interior design but for the great sea view/terraces and lovely heated outdoor pool. And I had a very pleasant stay at Sofitel Quiberon.
Sofitel Le Faubourg is a very solid product for location, interior design and quality of service.

I agree. I love this hotel too but I haven't been for some years because the prices have become completely crazy.

i have been in so many accorhotels in paris. excluding all the ibis, the hotel i enjoyed the most for the price paid was pullman paris rive gauche. i can also mention the mercure vaugirard. both are not in the "city center" but you can be in downtown with 15/20mins subway.
The MGallery Baltimore comes highly recommended.
Yes, very highly.

This is an incredibly useful collection of information/links that helped us enormously this spring when we were preparing for our first Paris trip in several years -- thanks, nicolas75!
