Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Baggage Allowance for HKG-YYZ [MPC Silver]

Does the MPC Silver status have any benefit in terms of checked baggage for HKG-YYZ?

On a general note, when I fly CX for regional routes, I feel that the check-in agents are quite relaxed in terms of baggage weight. Even without status, I am almost always allowed to carry 3-5 kg extra weight without any questions asked. But, last time I traveled YYZ-HKG, I was asked to re-pack even though I was just mere 0.7kg over the limit (23.7kg instead of 23). The lady said the cutoff/tolerance was 23.5 kg. Is this common for long-haul on CX?

You should get extra 10kg allowance: http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_BH/ffp/mpo/benefits

SLs don't get extra checked baggage allowance on routes where the piece system applies. 2x 50lb (23kg) for Y, 2x 70lb (32kg) for F/J.

In this case - SLs are only entitled for priority baggage.
