CommunityBuzz! - IBC Trade Show Amsterdam: Sept 5-11 - anyone around for drinkies?

Time flies and soon I'll be winging off to AMS for the annual IBC trade show (www.ibc.org), where 45,000 of my closest friends will be joining me. ;) :p :D

Anyone else going to the show or just in AMS around that timeframe? If so, let's try & meet up for drinks and/or meal, either after the show or perhaps a lunch at the show at the IBC pub.

I do know of one other FTer who will be there, but thought I'd check to see if there are others.

I arrive Wed, Sept 5th, & depart Wed, Sept 12th. Have a couple of commitments, but am open for the most part.

I'll actually be in Utrecht through 8 Sep, though I'm not sure I'll have time to get back to Amsterdam before Saturday.

I'm still working on IBC client projects, so will try to sort out a get-together later this week or early next before people head over.

Ah, Utrecht. The place Ryanair would call "Amsterdam West" if they flew there. Also the place where last minute refugees of IBC flee to in an attempt to find a hotel room for less than €250 a night.

Q: Is everyone registered for IBC? If not, then we'd better find a venue outside of the RAI for this DO. So if you don't have an IBC registration, please post accordingly, or you could register for free (http://ibc.org/regnow).

Bristol - is/are the bloke(s) that you invited at IBC last year & NAB this year going to be at the show? Let them know if they are.

I'll be there working for an equipment manufacturer, so unfortunately my time is not my own during the day and I probably can't meet up.

True, but doing it the week before or after a trade show that brings 45,000 visitors to AMS might have been a bit better. It's not like they didn't know about the show.

Well tell the mfr you need to eat & then just schedule it for 1pm ;).

BTW - I accidently scheduled a 10-hour layover at ORD :eek: , so I'll be hanging out in the United Club if you want to meet before the flight on the way over.

On the return I'm flying back via FRA vs. on the non-stop - ie, I followed the upgrade.

It was good seeing BristolTraveller & catching up (although a bit quickly due to mutual trade show schedules).

Met mmayer as we were exiting flight upon arrival in AMS, and he wasn't sure he'd even have a chance to leave his booth.
