Swiss International Airlines - Checking in baggage two times?

Hi,

Sorry for maybe asking a pretty straightforward question.

I have a LX flight comming up. The route is xxx-ZRH-zzz. In ZRH I will have a rather long layover (8 hours). I am flying LX all the way and it is the same ticket all the way.

My plan was to go in to Zürich for a little shopping (well actually recieved orders to do so!).

I am aware of the baggage allowance and so on, but it is possible to check in luggage first in xxx and then again later in ZRH?
Or should I get my checked in luggage (from xxx) in ZRH, and then check it all in again in ZRH?

You can check (assuming you are inside the allowance) one piece at the first airport and then a second piece at ZRH.
