Hi guys,

I'm travelling back home (COK) this month end from SIN for vacation. My flight is via BOM this time which will arrive at T2 @ 22.00hrs. My connection flight to COK is @ 06.15hrs from 1B Domestic.(I'm using JET AIRWAYS)

My Doubts:-

1) Any lounge available throughout this time.
2) Any smoking area in Domestic Terminal.:p
3) Can i check-in my baggage early, so that i can relax a bit.;) (or use left-luggage facility which will costs Rs.890/-)

I have read about the inter-free transfer buses & keeping e-ticket printed with you while travelling.

Any advises.

1) Any lounge available throughout this time.

- Yes there is the Carnations lounge in 1C (Only available if your flight departs from an 'A' gate and if you are JP Silver/Gold/Plat/Flying Première.)

2) Any smoking area in Domestic Terminal.:p

- Yes there is a smoking lounge in 1B right opposite the check-in counters.

3) Can i check-in my baggage early, so that i can relax a bit.;) (or use left-luggage facility which will costs Rs.890/-)

- Yes. After you clear customs walk out and take the right towards transfers. You'll find a Jet counter who will check-in your bags and hand you your boardings passes. Then take the bus to 1B.

Well you'll find out when you check in itself. And usually the Konnect flights operate from the ground floor gates so it's highly unlikely you'll get to use the lounge.

And no they don't have any other lounge apart from this.

Oh also, forgot to mention that you can't clear security before 3.15am. So enjoy the landside terminal till then.. :p

they even have that 2:25 AM 9wK flight to DEL from BOM (first departure of the day), so security check should be available till 1:25AM.

yes, this is the standard operating procedure and what the cabin crew will also announce the same thing when you are in transit to BOM.

Ooh! My, you poor thing!

Can you check your luggage in ALL the way right from the place you leave to your destination, and not just to BOM, so you can forget about it? Or have you got large hand luggage?

Yes.. You can stuff it into you check in bags before checking them in again. You will see loads of people doing this all over the place haha.

they even have that 2:25 AM 9wK flight to DEL from BOM (first departure of the day), so security check should be available till 1:25AM.

Security check is open all night but CISF prohibits you to clear security more than 3 hours prior to departure.

since Mumbai is his first port of Entry into India, he needs to complete his customs & passport control here.

Yes, you can do that with the help of the transfer desk on arrival at the international terminal..From my experience (and this one is an Air India experience though!!), i didn't check in at the arrival. The Airline check in staff at domestic were absent till around 4:15 AM. Although, i should have reeached the airside after 3:00 (my flight was around 6:00!!) , i couldn't do that without boarding pass!! And trust me, there is absolutely nothing you can do sitting at the landside at Mumbai (there are barely 1-2 shops open)!!

P.S: There is complimentary WiFi and a TV landside!!

If you are going to India, you might be more interested in time-pass than time-kill. ;)

Last I went ther Aeon's ago it was chairs and tables, 1 waiter, totally empty lounge, no food or drinks on display and when I asked for something, he got me a soft drink from somewhere.... Last week when I was at t1a, it did not exist anymore I think and the access to basement was closed. And yes, kingfisher pax are put in the carnations lounge in 1c now.

there are lot of hotels outsid Terminal 2 and Terminal 1. Right from expensive ones like the Hyatt, ITC, sahara Star to not so expensive pricing like Ibis, Orchid outside T1. does not look like you can get into the airport lounge without the cards or flying premium cabin.

you will arrive out of T2 (intl) and then need to go to T1 (domestic). if you want to stay inside the airport, use their shuttle. if you want to be at a hotel or something, take a cab.
