Hi All,

What's the best way for a cash upgrade of a TATL flight out of EWR? Does it already get offered at online check in if there's availability? (right now it's 8/16) or should I not checkin online and try at the kiosk?

Thanks,
H.

From my experience it is completely random. I've been offered it at a Kiosk and at online checkin. Most of the time though there is no pure cash offer.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Right now they offer an upgrade through cash and points but I have zero UA miles. I think I'll try online checkin as soon as it opens up if no other advice comes in here...

I have never seen it offered online. I did get offered this morning at O'hare using a kiosk.

Hi everyone

I hope it's not a stupid question but I havent flown united since the merger and am not up to date with the upgrade options available nowadays.

I am flying from ewr to bkk and wanted to know if united still offered to purchase an upgrade to business on checkin. Couple of years ago I had successfully upgraded from iAd-dxb when checking in for my flight as united had offered to purchase an upgrade for $600 or so.

Is this something that is still available?

Thank you :)

Yes, they still offer it on long-haul flights, but only if there are seats available. No guarantees there will be on the day of travel so no guarantee you'll get the offer. But you might.
