Flying Blue (Air France, KLM, and Other Partners) - Platinum for Two : Soft landing ?

Since January my wife got the benefits of the Platinum for Two offer thanks to my Amex/AF Plat Card (French version) and my Platinum FB status.
It is likely that for 2013, I may lose the Plat status to Gold (not enough miles to reach it). So, my questions are the following :
1) If I drop to Gold, would my wife do the same or she will collapse to Ivory ?
2) If I maintain myself in Gold (or Silver) in the follwing years (ie : I win this status by my effective flights and not by a soft landing), would it be the same for her too (ie : her FB status is linked ti mine ?)

I tried to call Amex about it and they are far to be clear about it.

In the past your wife would have the same status as you. But rules have changed, so officially, when your wife has platinum only due to your platinum-status, she will loose status immediately completely, unless she build up some status herself.

But, because the new situation is very new, it's possible there are glitches in the system, so she may be lucky - or not.

If I am correct the status is gifted, that is if the main card holder does not requalify the level of the sub-card holder is determined by his/her own activity of the previous years.
