Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Redemption question on CX + BA

I am planning to fly from HKG to VCE on 01.06.2013

I have already pre-booked 10 months ahead, but still all flights are waitlisted. I do wanna try the new Y, so I call for CX251 (though CX255 still on hold).
And as time is not waiting for me, the seat availability for LHR--VCE sector is also very limited now..

What should I do?

Sorry I don't understand what you said. If you can go on a different date but wants to go on the day currently waitlisted, you may go ahead and ticket on another day that can get you confirmed seats first and remain waitlisted on the FLT(s) you want.

is VCE the only airport of your choice? can you go to say verona, or brescia instead? can you move your dates by a day or 2 either way?

I think the reason why OP wants to redeem LHR-VCE as well is because, whether that segment is included or not, the award falls into D zone.

Have you looked at HKG to other European City say FRA or AMS then FRA/AMS -MAD-VCE might sound convoluted but no worse then the LHR-LGW Surface Transfer in London

Per AM T&C (http://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/site/terms#14) only 2 transits (and 2 stopovers + 1 open-jaw, whether the "or" should be "and" is debated but I believe it to be "and") is allowed. While OP can do it, it would cost extra miles unless both stopovers are used as transits and an open-jaw is put somewhere. Going through AMS will probably be over the 7500mi threshold as well.
