Star Alliance - Gold Status

I just recently became star gold status, this may seem like a stupid question, but since I do not have a card yet, should I expect to have problems having my status honored on partner airlines?

I am flying from NGO to ATL tomorrow on both ANA and United flights (and I am US Gold). I desperately need the extra baggage allowance as I am bringing both my and my wife's luggage with me (she is undergoing breast cancer treatment in Japan and will not be returning for a few more weeks)

Print your US account statement that shows your status, it should work including lounge access when flying internationally. Assuming your have become Gold more than a week, partner system should recognize it.
