Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - possibility of changing equipment?

Booked a flight CX 278 (CDG-HKG) on 9 October, and checked the loading by using Flightstats yesterday, and it shows:

Y/0 B/0 H/0 K/0 M/0 L/0 V/0 S/0 N/0 Q/0 O/0
J/6 C/2 D/2 I/0

almost two months ahead this flight has already sold out at this stage, and we all know that CX is famous for it's last minute equipment change, so my question would be what is the possibility of changing equipment in this case?

Or how does this KVS thing work? It does fluctuated from time to time, I reckon the number might depends on whether the booking has been ticketed or not? Alternatively can someone do a check in the actual KVS tool for me as I am just using the freebie one:)

Sorry if this is a silly question:p

I highly doubt so. CX rarely changes equipment, especially on long-hauls, just because a flight is full or overbooked.

You must be joking they change planes like I change my underpants. CDG is now doing well as many people have switched from AMS to CDG due to horrendous time keeping on the AMS flight

i don't think it applies to long-haul flight as well

Don't know what is the "actual" KVS tool versus the "freebie" one, but here is the availability display from Taiwan POS according to Abacus:

19OCTCDGHKG¤CX«

09OCT TUE CDG/Z¥2 HKG/¥6
CX RESPONSE ** DIRECT CONNECT PARTICIPANT **
13CX 260 F1 A1 J9 C7 D7 I0 CDGHKG 1350 0715¥1 77W 0
W9 R9 E4 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 O0
14CX 278 J5 C0 D1 I0 Y0 B0 CDGHKG 2110 1505¥1 343 0
H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 O0

CX rarely does last minute equipment change to long-haul FLTs, but it is not impossible, either.

Equipment changes are always a possibility -- the best way would be to periodically monitor the Seat Maps (particularly during the last few days before departure), which will reflect them in real-time:

Thanks all, just out of curiosity and asked this silly question.

So what if they oversold my flight? Will Cathay put people on the next available flight?

Yes of course, they will look for vdb first and then idb...

With some compensation of course...
