Other Asian, Australian and South Pacific Frequent Flyer Programs - Air Tahiti Nui / TN - Any hack to get miles?

I know that it is extremely hard if not impossible to credit TN (Air Tahiti Nui) miles to any meaningful FF.

Are there exceptions? A clever trick? i.e. by booking on a codeshare? (QF?; NZ?)

Even Alaska Airlines that usually sleeps with everyone is still not in bed with TN.

I am desperate! :p

I believe starting in September you will be able to earn miles on TN for AA since they announced a code share agreement.

If you want to redeem miles you can redeem AA or Delta miles for seats to tahiti.

Just saw the announcement.
Hope we will be able to earn miles. They speak about Elite Qualifying miles, hope the standard ones post as well!

I presume we have to book the AA marketed flight? ie. if it is QF marketed, what happens?

Minos,
As always the operating carrier credits the miles. So for instance if you book a QF marketed flight on TN metal you would need to see what class you tickets are booked in on QF and in TN and check the QF and TN agreement with AA and make sure the classes you booked will give you credit. If you have questions I would call QF if you are booking with them and ask what class your tickets will book into on both QF and TN prior to purchasing.

Was this implemented? American's website says you can only redeem on TN and not earn on TN...anyone know?

It was implemented but you have to buy the American marketed flights in order to get miles.

If you're ticketed on the AA codeshare I'd be very surprised if you didn't end up getting your miles. I know hotel programs won't usually credit points if you don't book with them but I've yet to see any airline that won't credit the standard mileage earning rates regardless of where you booked. (There may be bonuses for booking with the airline, but that's a different story)
