Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX 390 15/8 possibly an equipment change (and a possible UG?)??

hi guys, just a quick question:

so im booked on CX390 HKG-PEK on 15th and on MMB its showed 773 with regional J+Y and i've selected row 31 a few weeks ago. Just clicked open expertflyer earlier to check loading etc, its showing that the equipment operating now has changed to a 4-class 744.

AFAIK, Y+ is not for sale to PEK and so I logged onto my MPC account to check. My booking still shows 773 operating and my original seat selection remains, and when I tried to change seats/ view the seat map, a message says:

"Sorry that there is not enough seats for your selection at this moment."

Anyone had this experience previously? And does that mean I'll be seated in Y+ and receive Y service?

This happened to me once on CX633 to Penang. FLight was scheduled to be a 77W all along right up to less than 24 hours before the flight when it became clear that the flight was heavily overbooked. I did a dummy booking and found that it had changed to a 343, but when i logged into my MPC account and checked my booking record it still showed a 77W, yet it won't give me access to the seatmap.

As for "payed Y but seated in Y+", yes it's just going to be Y treatment. Service, Meals, everything, all just the same with Y.

yep, OLCI just opened up this morning and i found out that i've been shifted out from my original seat in row 31 to the very back of the plane. not happy at all because I'm going to PEK for business and will be in a rush! Called up MPC but they said theres nothing they could do and that kinda enraged me and caused me to shout!

To the OP, I wouldn't get so upset just yet.

I'm fairly certain you'll be upgraded, most likely to J rather than Y+.

I would be shocked if you were seated in Y on this flight.

Make sure you do OLCI.
