Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - FAA proposes $1million fine vs Horizon AirlinesView Full Version : FAA proposes $1million fine vs Horizon Airlines Rifleman69 Aug 11, 12, 6:50 pm Seems like a slap on the wrist really. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/businesstechnology/2018878236_horizonfine09.html beckoa Aug 11, 12, 7:48 pm Wirelessly posted (beckoa's PWP wondrousdevice3.0: Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9810; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0.0.583 Mobile Safari/534.11+) Its not for flight safety but rather security it seems :( "Frankly, we're not talking about a huge deal here," Mackey said. "A 400-pound guy charging at the door probably wouldn't break through either rivet." Aaron01 Aug 11, 12, 9:16 pm Could a 400lb guy really charge down the isle of a Q400? johnp012001 Aug 11, 12, 9:29 pm Welll, they seem to think he could fit in a seat, at least for a relatively short period of time! wazzuFreddo Aug 12, 12, 1:03 am I don't think Q400s are even on the radar of nefarious individuals. steadyASshegoes Aug 12, 12, 10:40 am Fly Horizon Air, now with a 100% Q400 Terrorprop fleet (the Q stands for al Qaeda). Eastbay1K Aug 12, 12, 11:10 am Could a 400lb guy really charge down the isle of a Q400? A Q400 is its own isle. Now as far as him fitting down the aisle, probably not so easy. Aaron01 Aug 12, 12, 12:43 pm A Q400 is its own isle. Now as far as him fitting down the aisle, probably not so easy. Thanks :D IJK Aug 12, 12, 11:09 pm Could a 400lb guy really charge down the isle of a Q400? With the weight balance issue of the Q400, the pilots would have plenty of warning that a 400ib object was lumbering up the aisle. Only to become stuck in the loo. . robsaw Aug 14, 12, 10:17 pm Seems like a slap on the wrist really. Seems more like a bureaucracy that takes the letter of the rule more seriously than the actual effect, particularly when it IS for one of the many nearly useless security rules and not flight safety. StevenSeagalFan Aug 14, 12, 11:34 pm The fine will probably be knocked down quite a bit as has been the case with previous fines. beckoa Aug 14, 12, 11:42 pm Wirelessly posted (beckoa's PWP wondrousdevice3.0: Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9810; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0.0.583 Mobile Safari/534.11+) The fine will probably be knocked down quite a bit as has been the case with previous fines. Or thrown out since the part wasn't bought from the 'approved' list. Wonder if the washer company that seems to of lost the bid brought this to the attention of the FAA... -speculation of course. |
