Virgin Atlantic Flying Club - Is UC too narrow for a big guy?

I'm flying on the 747-400 out of Gatwick shortly and for the first time in Upper Class. I've read a few posts that refer to the seat as narrow!

I'm a big guy so wondering if i'm going to find it too snug for comfort? Seat Guru states the seat is 21" wide which, based on my measuring tape, is a fair width - no problem! Is it a 'snug' 21" wide seat?

The seat itself is 21" wide and there's further space around that in the suite - you should be fine, especially since the suites on the 747s are known to be more spacious than on the Airbii.
