I live like 30 minutes from the philly airport but 2 and a half hours from Baltimore. Would I be able to just skip the Baltimore and board at the philly segment? This fare is cheap is why I am wondering. Thanks all!

No, once you skip the first segment the rest of the itinerary will be cancelled. Unless there's weather, a cancel, or some other reason, and it is noted in your reservation.

As aztimm mentions, unfortunately not, with few exceptions.

If your return is through PHL, you can of course get off there (if not checking luggage) and discard the last PHL-BWI segment. Airlines don't like it generally, but as long as it's not often, you can get away with it.

Although there's a recent FT thread about US freezing the DM account "for audit" of someone who had only done this twice in 2 months. It's a violation of the COC and really embarassing if this is an employer-paid ticket and the inquiry comes back that way.

Short story, if you're going to do it, don't do it more than once, don't check luggage and don't use a FF#.

Twice a week, 6 in a year (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18724549-post58.html), if this is the relevant thread with your comments. I guess US had already flagged the OP's account because of his past activity... 6 in a year appears to be trouble.

Your advice is sound re doing it once, no checked luggage, and no FF#.
