United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Flights to ORD (out of Tulsa, or system wide?) delayed.. switch earlier?

So I am a silver.. no standing by for earlier flight without $$$

I was on Tulsa-ORD at 6:15... now 6:54 not to bad..
But I see the 105 is now 535
and the 214 is now 545

Does united relent on the standby fee for delayed flights? Do I give up my seat on my later flight?

Been a long week, would be nice to get home on-time.. And looking at the sea of red to Chicago, it would just be nice to get home today..

Oh and if I want to try to change how do you recommend? Call Prem line? find some one at AP? (I am already behind security.. gate staff?)

No UC here :(

I would check with a gate agent and ask very nicely if there is any way to get on an earlier flight. The key is to be very nice and empathetic (gate agents dislike delays as much as passengers do).

Thanks.. So they do have the power?
I might wander over.. So tired I might just fall asleep in the terminal.. Right now E+ does not matter, I could sleep in a Lavatory!

What can I say? United came through!
No charge, cleared standby immediately.

Thrilled. Thanks United. My status is worth something.

Let's see how we can reframe this story into a complaint? How about, "Cyclogenesis had to walk all the way to the gate to beg for
the rebooking." :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Seriously, my last several UA trips have been flawless (if we use March 3 as the baseline for judgment--I still do miss the pillows.:p

I'm sure I can score a voucher :)

In the spirit of complaining check out the flight aware page:
