Go up and down. Not randomly, but based on demand. Should have booked yesterday, as there is no penalty to cancel. I would book today at higher rate and keep monitoring the rates so that you lock something up in case the go higher.

Book a new reservation at the lower rate and cancel the other one. You can book and cancel as many times as you wish.

No, they don't charge your card until you rent the car. They don't charge your card at the time of reservation.

Most of us in the US would consider the Crown Vic the worst car in the fleet.

If renting on a prepaid program, your credit card will be debited immediately with the stated rental charges. You will then receive a confirmation number on screen. Optional extras, for example Personal Accident Insurance, Super Cover, Child Seats are to be paid at the rental location.

sounds like they take the money immediatly?

also have to pay to cancel:If the booking is cancelled after the first 7 days from the moment it was created, Hertz will provide a refund of the prepaid amount less EUR 45.00, GBP 30.00, CHF 65.00, SEK 300.00, NOK 300.00, ZAR 450.00, DKK 300.00, AED 200.00, SAR 200.00, KWD 20.00.

Did not realize you were considering prepaid rental.

I have never done prepaid in any of my hundreds of rentals. Just not worth it to lock in a rate and prepay when rates fluctuate so much.

Your call. I have never found the prepaid rates to be cheap enough for me to sacrifice my flexibility in finding a better rate or changing my travel plans.

Clear your cookies or try again from a different PC. Lots of companies inflate prices as they can tell people have been looking. Airlines such as BA do it all the time. Watch out as well fro these added extras....I always think car rental is actually a rip off...they all try and get every last penny out of you and then give you rubbish cars anyways!

managed to get a PCAR for £404 instead of £425 or £455 without the online cdp code, told the agent i want a crown vic as a preference, have to wait and see i guess if they have any.
