CX 255 to LHR delayed from 00:35 to 03:15 due to mouse spotted on board. I'm in F and all the F pax changed into our pyjamas, waiting for take off. As we were having our pre-take off drinks the pilot tells us there's a mouse spotted on board. They switch on the IFE and about an hour later they tell us due to potential danger (mouse biting the electrical wiring) they can't take off if they can't find the mouse. So we have to change to another plane. Luckily it's only a short walk away (gate 4 to gate 2) and so all us F pax were walked through the terminal in our pyjamas. Quite an experience! The cabin crew were very apologetic.

What an interesting experience! The crew said that the mouse was in Y and the crew there were using torches, scanning the ground to look for the mouse.

A bit confused over the logic here. If they were concerned about the mouse gnawing on wiring while in fight, why wouldn't they have a similar concern that the mouse hadn't already damaged the electrical system? If this were a real concern shouldn't they have pulled the aircraft for inspection even if they caught the little bugger?

I can better understand the concern if it were over health issues related to contamination of food or pax being exposed to airborne infectious agent(s) in a closed cabin over a prolonged period of time.

I suppose that there's also the possibility that the airline would face fines and/or costly cleaning of the aircraft if customs/agricultural inspectors became aware that they were "transporting" vermin (without a permit ;)),

They can run tests before departure

Sounds like sequels to Samuel L. Jackson's movie "Snakes on a Plane"

At the AA arrivals lounge now. It was a 747-400. We were moved to the same aircraft type but I'm not sure if either of the planes had Y+ (I was in F).

To add even more suspense to the flight, the captain announced after landing that we had to stay in our seats as the police had to remove a few passengers! Around 10-15 fully geared police officers boarded and took away 2 pax (or was it 3?) - the crew refused to divulge any information. All pax were ordered to stay in their seats but all the F pax were crowding around to catch a glimpse of the action. There was no violence or any shouting though.

Some F pax got a bit annoyed with the delay on top of the delay - I was quite okay as I don't have much planned in London today.

I will think this to be treated as an isolated incident. The little passenger was not screened of course and some one is to be blamed or could be a smuggled pet on board.

Maybe I am wrong but if you have the updated AVOD with the new style menu then the plane has the new economy class seats and Premium Econ.

IIRC the 744s won't be getting the updated AVOD system or the new Y seats, only the Y+ seats, since they're no more than a few years from retirement.

The 74Ks have the new AVOD system, PY seats but retain the fixed-shell Y seats (though I am not sure whether the PTVs are capable of being touch-screens)

for economy class in 74K, CX have turned on the touchscreen function
it's the updated AVOD system and you can choose to control it with the remote or the touchscreen, both can be fine :)

not sure for J or F
