Hi all,

This is my first post.
I'm at the point booking a return ticket JFK-PEK at ANA, layover in NRT.
The ticket is the cheapest I can find. Then I find that the bookin class is 'K', wen reading on the website: http://www.ana.co.jp/wws/general/e/amc/reference/tameru/flightmile_int.html
I see that with this bookin class I only can get 70% of the miles. I am also new to ANA, And don't know if I would fly with them more often, don't often go to Asia.
My question is: i am thinking to book a ticket class of higher than 'K', for instance Y or E in order to get 100% of the miles. I don know how much more expensive it will be. But does anyone if this is worth it to pay more to basically get tr extra 30% of the miles?

Thanks a lot!

Welcome to FT, Laumeister! Whether you go for a 100% mileage-accruing fare or not really depends on your flying goals and how much you want to spend to achieve them. One rule of thumb we use on FT is "cost per mile" (CPM) -- how much it costs for you fly one mile using that particular fare.

I'm not as familiar with ex-USA fares, but if the additional difference for the 100% fare is only 5-10%, it may be worth it to go for the higher fare. However, there may be cheaper ways to obtain 100% mileage, such as flying another *A airline and crediting the flight to ANA.

I can tell you right now that Y and E fares are going to be too expensive to make an up-fare worthwhile.

I think the best option is probably to credit your flights to United, where you'll get 100% credit for the longer JFK-NRT flights and 50% credit for the shorter NRT-PEK flights.
