Anyone know why 4114 diverted to Hobby today en route AUS-DCA?

There were major weather delays getting into and out of DCA. I'm guessing they didn't have enough fuel for a lengthy hold, so they went back to HOU to refuel or wait for traffic to open up.

That would be an incorrect guess, as if it didn't have fuel for holding at DCA it never would have departed AUS.

Once enroute, the aircraft actually had a MX issue that would have grounded it in DCA, and since HOU was so close at the time of the issue and HOU had more MX resources than did DCA (BWI driving some down to DCA aside), it was better to divert to HOU and swap to another aircraft, which is what they did.

Thanks for the correction. Just curious how you learned it was MX.
