Mileage Run Discussion - EEK: MR schedule change reduced MQM's NYC-SAN-ICT

Originally I booked this MR in June for MR on Sept 7-9th.

My original itinerary was JFK-SAN-ATL-ICT-ATL-SAN-ATL-LGA which was 10.4k mqms.

A short while after I booked this MR, the ICT to ATL portion had a schedule change and after my return to ATL I would miss the last flight to SAN resulting in an overnight in ATL which I did not want to do. Through help of a fellow FTer, we found a flight ATL-LAX-SAN that would get me into SAN with 50 minutes to make the red eye back to ATL for the final stretch of my flight. I was happy about this as I got another 600 mqms by adding the layover in LAX.

Well just a couple days days ago (recieved a call last night from DL agent) there was another change to the ICT-ATL occured and now they rebooked me ICT-ATL-SAN-ATL-LGA skipping the LAX leg and costing my 600 mqms.

Most important question is will I have any issue calling DL agent and asking to be put back on the LAX portion of my flight?

And following that , Is it worth spending time looking at schedules to locate another routing connection that could increase my MQMS even further?

FYI: I called DL this morning and requested my previous routing ICT-ATL-LAX-SAN and the agent made the change no problem. Briefly she said the ICT-ATL 12:37 (DL 5066) that i wanted no longer existed but after I clarified I could see the flight on the DL.dumb web site she saw the flight and made the change. Done and done.

Now please, delta. please. No more schedule changes.. Kthxbye
