My daughter-in-law is getting her name changed on her SSN next week. How long should she wait to apply for new credit cards? When will their system update with the Credit Bureaus? Obviously her SSN won't change, but her last name and address will. I'd appreciate advice on this from other women who have gone through the same thing, thx.
DW changed her last name on her existing cards and at the next statement date, it reported the new last name to the CRA. So the new last name was present in her credit reports under the 'also known as' section.
You should also be able to send a copy of the new DL to each of the CRA.

So does she need to send the CRAs a copy of her new documentation, or will it show up automatically after the changes she makes with the Social Security Administration? If the latter, does anyone have a link to the phone numbers of Equifax, Experian and Transunion?
I think it will be automatic. I was married 15 years ago, still haven't done anything with the SSA. Just showed my certificate one time to get a new license. SSA updated on their own and so did the credit bureaus. Never been denied for a loan or application.

So did you get a new Social Security Card with your name changed?
You will get a new SSN card. And it will be automatic eventually.
