I have a score of 780 on Experian (not fako score). Just wondering how many hard inquiries AMEX allows within 6 months, within 12 months before the denial process takes place. BTW, I only have applied for one AMEX Hilton Honors within the past year from AMEX.

Anyone?

You should be able to get a few cards approved in a short period of time. I just did HHonors and Delta. The Delta one is still pending because I applied for it in less than 24 hours from the Hilton card. Other members have reported submitting a few applications at once with different browsers.

I asked AMEX about signing up for multiple cards and was told that multiple applications within 24 hours usually will need to be reviewed. I wanted to get the SPG card also and was told that shouldn't be a problem even though i just applied for two of their cards the last few days. I might give them a call later to find out what's causing the delay for my Delta Gold card.

I had 5 inq total between April - May (granted 1 was for mortgage, 1 for gas company, 1 for electric, 1 for Comcast, and the 5th was for a store charge card).

In late May, knowing I had the 5 inqs from April/May as I ran my CR, I signed up for the Amex Business Gold charge and was appproved instantly.

Last week I signed up for the Chase Ink Plus card (with now 6 inq) and Chase approved it as well.

I don't think there are any hard rules for AMEX.

AMEX pulls Experian. The most hard inquiries I've had on Experian in six months before an AMEX approval is probably four. The most in the previous 12 months is probably 10.

The fastest I have ever accumulated AMEX cards is getting two on the same day and then getting two more four months later. I think that is pushing it. But then I am just guessing based on my experience and others reports.

I'm in Canada and Amex uses TransUnion.

I've applied for 10 Amex in the last year, 4 of them in the last 2 months.

All of them went well except the last 2. For the 2nd to last one (Platinum) I was declined, when I called in and "pushed" they asked me to cancel other Amex Cards (I cancelled 3) and they gave me the platinum.

For the last one (SPG Consumer) I was denied again, I called and pushed and I offered to move the limit from my other Amex Credit Card and they agreed.

Be careful with "Upgraded Cards" as you don't usually get any or all of the Welcome or Refer a Friend Bonuses.
