I am so sad. Karen was the first FT friend I ever met. We flew together to VCE in 2004.

A great and smart woman and I am so glad she found happiness with her new husband, Alex. My condolences to him and her family.

I hope to learn more. Am hitting the road right now but will check back.

The Meet was was a bigger success than even I had anticipated and preserved for posterity in KLC's pictures (http://kcantu2.photosite.com/FlyertalkVenice/)...Punki's pictures (http://www.punki.photosite.com/venice2004/)...and O2K's pictures (http://homepage.mac.com/obscure2k/PhotoAlbum2.html)

The rest of this thread is being left for future anthropologists to discover and study.Unfortunately, none of these links work any more.

She took a great photograph of me, the wife of magic111 (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/communitybuzz/1316850-r-i-p-jim-magic111-my-dear-friend.html) and vasantn in Venice and “burned” some compact discs of her photographs for us.

I know there are plenty of photographs of Karen on the Internet, if anyone would like to post one here in this thread in her remembrance...

I only had the pleasure of meeting KLC during OzFest #7 in Adelaide, and to hear this news this morning i'm more than a little saddened.

I had the pleasure of guesting her in post-event to the ADL QP on her way home, where both KLC, De-De and myself had the pleasure of some sparkling repartee before our respective onward flights.

My condolences to her family and those in the FT and #freqflyer communities at large who knew her better than I did. Such a nice person and a sad loss.

This is awful news, and it gives me a feeling of deja vu. Earlier this year, I was looking forward to seeing magic111 again at the BRT weekend in NYC; but he died suddenly, a few months before the event.

This time around, I was looking forward to seeing KLC again at the Krakow Do (a couple of weeks from now), only to learn that she has passed away.

May she rest in peace; and condolences to her family and friends.

I am reminded of the fragility of life and the arrogance of taking it for granted.

I didn't know Karen went to UC Davis, just up the road from me. I enjoyed socializing with her at the two OzFests in Adelaide and Cairns, and I'm sure our paths crossed somewhere else in years past at other FT events. Rest in peace, Karen.
