Qantas Frequent Flyer - Help might be needed - QF2261 - LDH to SYD Cancelled

Hi Guys,

Just here on a remote island called Lord Howe Island and it seems that QF2260 SYD to LDH has returned back to SYD and has gone technical but the flight it showing an ETD of 14:00 on qantas.com.au website. Reason why I am slightly panicky about this situation is that tomorrow I am booked on QF1 so I need to speak to QF call centre to see whether they have any plans of doing a special flight to get the stranded passengers (I have been told that one bad weeks there is up to 4 flights to SYD from LDH).

I want to get in touch with the QF call centre but for some reason the 13 13 13 number is barred (I have no idea why) - does anyone know any alternative numbers that I can reach them on?

Been trying to reply and say thank you but this 5Kbps connection is really not adequate!

Spoke to QF and it seems that no one knows about the tech that has happened to QF2260 which is a bit alarming but fingers cross that the 14:00 ETD on QF2260 today does happen so at least I will have the night back in SYD no matter how late!

How annoying so the flight today has been totally cancelled. At least our accommodation and meals have been sorted which is good.

Just trying to get in touch with QF is now getting more impossible as the weather turns as it turns out I only have 3 hours to change from QF2261 to QF1.

Fingers crossed! does anyone any have KVS information on BA7311 / QF1 ? I am booked on T class.

I am going to keep calling until I speak to someone!

So have checked in for the QF2258 flight for tomorrow which gets in at 1:20pm and check-in closes for the QF1 flight at 2:40pm and in between I need to get my bags from the north shore into Sydney Airport!

No time for the First Class Lounge :(

We shall see what happens tomorrow. The guy on the phone advised that despite by QF1 ticket being on ba stock, it would still be QF's fault for making us late coming in so it would still be their fault.

Is it all booked on one ticket? If not you are not protected for missing QF1 I believe...

OP is clearly on separate tickets and while there is no legal or contractual rqmt for QF to accomodate this pax -- esp. as the LDH-SYD will make a legal connection time -- but in practice QF often is helpful in these matters esp. ex-SYD. But if booked on the BA codeshare, and not just BA stock, then BA will have to approve whatever QF does and that might complicate matters. BAEC status (not shown by the OP) really helps at times like this.

The LDH to SYD // SYD to LHR ticket is booked on separate PNR's.

The guy was very insistent that QF is at fault if I miss my QF1 flight as I am one day delayed already from a QF operated flight beforehand.

I have pointed out to him that I am on BA Stock under a BA flight number but he wouldn't have any of it... the same for the second person I spoke to the second time.

I have asked him to just make a note about this situation and he has created an 'information link' between the two PNR's but I am not very convinced.

It almost sounded like I did not want any help and providing him with reasons of why I should not be helped if I miss my QF1 flight but they both would not have any of it (which is good I think).
