United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Refund of upgrade purchased during online checkin

I just bought a ticket to Asia for tomorrow. I went to the checkin page on my IPAD and it offers me an upgrade at a good rate, for me. But, there is a chance I will have to cancel at the last second. I know i will get my ticket price back, its within 24 hours. But, what about the upgrade fee? Its about the same price as the coach seat, so its not insignificant.

pretty sure they are non-refundable, read the fine print. i'm not an expert on TODs, you might wanna post this in the TOD thread and see if you can get a bite. then again by the time you get back to OLCI, it's likely the price will have changed, then again it will probably be lower if the TOD thread is right.
