We're on the 9:15 tomorrow from BOS-PHL in First and presume we'll get both breakfast and lunch.

However, I'm thinking that they will not start the lunch service until after NYP which would be tight for us as it's only another 1 hour and 10 minutes to PHL and on our recent NYP-BOS leg it took 1.5 hours to get our meal.

So I'm just checking (i) whether we get get lunch and (ii) whether we can request it before NYP or to be served immediately after leaving NYP.

Yes, you will get breakfast out of BOS.

They will do a lunch service out of NYP. My recommendation is to remind the attendants as you are approaching NYP and they are doing their cleanup of the car that you are detraining in PHL and would like lunch.

I often travel to PHL (my family lives there) and have gotten the second meal between NYP & PHL most of the time.

Did it take 90 minutes to order, or 90 minutes to get the food on your trip north? The attendants actually do prioritize the food orders, so it isn't uncommon to get your meal in an hour or so after leaving NYP, because they want to serve the folks getting off in Stamford and New Haven prior to the pax going to PVD & BOS.

Yes, they normally do this, so I wouldn't worry. I assume that the reason it took so long to get served on the NYP-BOS leg was because they knew you were going all the way to BOS.

I travel between NYP-WIL (a 1:25 journey), and when I am leaving NYP on a dinnertime train to go to WIL, I typically get my food within 30 minutes. In the other direction, I get my food within 20 minutes, that is, before I hit PHL.
