I'd seriously reconsider paying or even using miles for JJ F. In my experience, LA serves better J meals and the seats are truly flat. I don't know what drugs JJ execs are using, but before, JJ used to have truly flat seats in F which were identical to the old LX F seats, but a few years ago the JJ F seats were changed and even though you get a nice 4-person cabin, the new JJ F seats do not lie entirely flat (I'd say about 170 degrees).
However, since you are already on a First Class RTW fare, I can see why you would want to. None of LA's planes are fitted with an F cabin, while JJ's entire A330-200 and B777-300 fleets are fitted with a 4-person F cabin.

I think your information is either dated or incorrect . I Flew the TAM 330 first class. It is a full flat 180% bed with sheets and duvet provided. Its huge and comes with either a 23 or a 27 inch screen. There is no comparison between LAN J and TAM F. I have flown both this year. It is apples and oranges. Tam will have a chauffer pick you up and the first class cabin is amazing.

Actually, you are the one who is way off. TAM's F seats do not recline to 180 degrees and I know because I have been on these seats on many routes, e.g. MIA - GRU/GIG, CDG - GIG, GIG-EZE, etc. At best, the seats recline to 170 degrees, which is a shame since the old JJ F seats (almost identical to the old LX F seats) did indeed recline to 180 degrees.
Another point that shows your complete lack of familiarity with the LAN product is the duvet, as LAN's duvets are way softer and more comfortable than the ones JJ provides in F (which by the way are the same as J except the linings tend to be red instead of green).
The major advantage of JJ F over LA J is the exclusive 4-person cabin and the outstanding, highly personalized ground services JJ provides to F pax.
p.s. Since you are new to FlyerTalk, you may want to know that citing JJ's web site is not very helpful, as the site often has glitches and not the most up to date information (it only took JJ two years to include an honest description of the pathetic F product intra S America, i.e., you only get the 4-person cabin and all the other services are the same as J).

Well I flew TAM yesterday from FRA to RIO yesterday and the seats did recline 180%. The headrest is a little heavy and protrudes out so you may think its not 180 degrees. Anyway I have flown LAN over a dozen times in J (lax-lim-gru. sfo-lim-gru and again no comparison.

If many people shared your opinion, JJ wouldn't have such a hard time filling F, which on most flights only gets 1 pax these days.

You know what they say about opinions. Everyone is entitled to one. We just don't have to agree.
BTW several airlines don't fill their first class for many reasons other than the comfort level . Just flew Lufthansa First from Delhi to Fra on the New 747 8 last week. Now that is an amazing first class but only 3 people and eight seats. Attendants told me that flight has been going over 50% empty in first class. I doubt that is because the first class is not good enough

By virtue of a simple quantitative analysis, 1/4 is 25% while 3/8 is 37.5% and as you were told by LH cabin crew, LH F has been going on average with ~50% load factor, which is twice as much as JJ's 25%, so while there is clearly a lower global demand for F, passengers are unquestionably more likely to pay for this class-of-service on a carrier with a great F product like LH than on one with a so-so product like JJ.
Further, given that LH is making it very difficult to redeem F awards, its 50% load factor is being made up of primarily all revenue passengers, whereas JJ's lower load factor may consist primarily of F awards, e.g., my last CDG-GIG-EZE trip where I was on an award F ticket and I was the sole F pax on both legs. Same with my GRU-MIA flight last month (though I was in J in the row right behind the F cabin), I overheard the sole F pax on the flight telling the cabin crew how having a private cabin to himself was worth the many miles he had spent for the ticket.

Not doing quantitative analysis here.Just telling you that your earlier supposition that "if many people shared my opinion JJ first would not be that empty" is not correct. Economic and logistical reasons are probably more important.
I don't know about you but I have redeemed way more LH first class awards than JJ and generally find space in LH first easier than in JJ first . Just try any of the FRA-BUE flights on LH and see the availability ot the Munich_GRU

The point of this is that just because a lot of people cant find first class award seats on an airline, does not mean that someone who has different routing or parameters will also not be able to find award seats as well. Maybe people cant find LH awards in First in advance from NA to Europe but for me getting last minute First LH awards has not been hard especially since my routing is between Europe and South America. Also being a united 1K and 2 MM, I can change tickets without penalty so not concerned about any ticketing fees
I am done. Don't know why I am wasting my time.

Hey guys. To be completely objective, here's a clear picture showing that the TAM F seats in fact DO NOT recline to 180 degrees and this is not due to the headrest:
Come on guys! This forum is not to discredit members! It is here to discredit LANPASS!! Or at least to make a point when they discredit themselves...
Right?
