Air France Frequence Plus - PV or Affaires?

View Full Version : PV or Affaires?

Just thought I'd share an experience - I upgraded Mrs. Redtop to PV on her flight earlier this week (DL award ticket, got an email offering PV for €139 or Affaires for €329) and she just wrote and said:

"The seat was a business class seat, it was reclining all the way down into a bed, the food was business class like with real silverware and my luggage was prioritised (it was nice to not have to wait for it) . It was worth every single penny, it was really awesome. I looked at the other business class seats and they were the same, slightly different than the first class but really what you got was everything I needed, all the comfort possble in a commercial flight."

So I wonder where she really sat - not that I'm arguing! (Was AF023 JFK-CDG.)

I don't know. I vaguely remember booking her in row 22, which would be PV. But that doesn't mean that's where she actually sat, and I'm not apt to quiz her, but I'll see her boarding pass when I meet her in Paris in a couple of weeks.

Flatbeds cannot be PV. She may have been upgraded to Affaires.

The PV seats are nice and spacious but not great for sleeping. I like them for the personal space and the more relaxed cabin feel.

bed, silverware... my guess is that you upgraded her to PV, from which she got an op-up to Affaires

I probably was imprecise in my wording in the original post. I know I only paid for PV, I know what she described was Affaires, I was more just sharing the info that she got mysteriously upgraded another notch.

I'm happy she got it, and since I make all her travel plans, I'm happy to take the credit. (Especially since after getting to CDG she had a 6-hour wait and then another 3-hour flight to OTP.)

I'm hoping for some kind of upgrade myself when I go in two weeks, but not counting on it, especially since I'm on an A380.

Partner award ticket in Y, heavily discounted upgrade to PV and then an op-up (it seems so) to J. Very, very nice! :)

Did you check exactly how much you were charge for the upgrade ? ;)
